We respond to immediate needs in Cape Town and KZN, supplying what our neighbours need most during times of disaster food, water, essential services and emergency medical response.
Essential Needs
We provide essential items and services to families who have been impacted by floods, riots, inclement weather or other unforeseen events.
In response to natural disasters, Crossroads distributes food and food vouchers, beds, water tanks, clothing, medicines and medical supplies. We also raise funds to assist with home rebuilds.
Clean Water
Lack of access to clean water for drinking and bathing is a major source of illness for many South Africans. Crossroads provides water tanks to people in communities who don’t have access to clean piped water.
The Mayika and Osindisweni communities have received 30+ tanks to assist with their drinking water needs.
Medical Response
Beyond our seasonal clinics, Crossroads partners with local agencies to provide emergency medical response when a disaster impacts the community. Through established partnerships, we are able to respond quickly with the necessary services.
These medical assessments help identify many different illnesses, from viruses to tuberculosis allowing for immediate care and treatment.
